Who Knew I Started a Blog Ten Years Ago??
It appears I've had a blog for several years mostly forgotten by yours truly all this time... all this wasted time. I apologize to those who may have been willing to participate in any repertoire of dialogue on any number of edifying subjects. Seems I had all the right intentions when I first opened this portal to communication and reciprocity. Wow...
So now I'm retired, been retired for going on eight years... been sitting home alone all this time eating donuts and ice cream and feeling sorry for myself...and collecting junk... oh, its mostly collectibles and architectural salvage. Funny all the ways we can self medicate. I've never been one for addictions until I discovered eBay and now unfortunately, QVC and HSN... but then again, the hosts on these home shopping shows are quite entertaining in their own carnival barker sort of way. Actually, I've been able to disengage myself from uncontrollable buying binges in these years of retirement... until this year... phooey!! But I've also gained a nice little wardrobe for myself which is helping me to redefine myself in these sunsetting years.
For the most part, subjects pertaining to the emergent ecological consciousness, justice for all, universal influences on life in this world... stuff like that... oh yes, and my pet passion now... no, really... my pet passion now is Bichon Frises. LOL and a very cagey cocker spaniel siren who defies all boundaries just to be at my side. She's really something... but the Bichons are quite something else.
So for now, I'm going to think about seriously attending to this blog from now on. I mean, honestly, why waste good opportunity. I needed an outlet for my creativity and emotion. I guess those are both motivated by the same energies. Expect ripples on this glassy surface. Stay tuned.
There are so many stories... so many lessons... empathetic memoirs of an extravert in solitude. In all my years, the most significant lesson I've learned is that loneliness is my most honest best friend. I'm including herewith a photo essay of some of the topics I will broach in this forum. I hope some of my words bring peace, light and hope to a darkening world. The possibilities are...well... endless.
Oh and by the way... I must acknowledge my childhood friend Lee Caleca without whom I would never have been routed around the internet to find I already had a blog. Thanks Elspeth!!
